| Ibsen's use of the word "house" instead of "home" has always raised questions, for house is merely a place to live in and a home is established on the foundation of mutual love, understanding, affection, caring, sacrifice and other mutual positive values between a husband and wife. The play is not only a satire on the society where millions of Noras fade away into oblivion because they don't raise a voice of protest but also raises a question on a man's role in this human society. A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen is one of the best plays dealing with human relations, ever written in any language. Rajasir |
